JBI LOAD MANAGEMENT

The goal of this project was to take the current Load Management screen designed for our dedicated contract business and shape it to align with user needs in the JBI business.

Research

We started by interviewing and shadowing users to learn how they navigated their current legacy system, FM2. Through this we learned that depending on location, our JBI users navigate and set up their views in different ways. Some users needed to see Available, Planned, and In Transit loads while others preferred to organize their loads by Pickup, Crosstown, and Delivery loads. The columns they needed also changed depending on these circumstances as well.

The Solution

Our final direction gave users the tools to customize their workspace to create a view that worked best for them. Utilizing existing tools for customizing the columns in our data grid, we created a new modal that allows users to customize their vertical tabs to fit their needs. Our user testing validated this approach, with 5 users from various locations all giving the design high marks.

Solutioning

We then held a workshop tailored for the timeline we were given. I facilitated ideation and prioritization with a cross-functional team, bringing together the product, development, and business teams associated with the project. Each party had valuable insights, which were incorporated into our solution. Finally, I conducted user testing to validate and stress test our approach.
